I have installed the Honestech TVR 2.5 video editing software onto my Windows 10 laptop and am using the Video DVR usb cable that came with it. I want to put my VHS tapes onto DVD, but have no clue how to do it. I received no manual and can't find anything for this particular one online. I can get audio and a black screen with crackly lines for the video when I set it on Composite. I don't know what the settings need to be, so have guessed at PAL-I for the Video Standard, OEM for the Video Capture Device, and MPEG-2 for the Record Setting Profile.
I haven't touched anything else. I'm in the UK. Please could someone tell me what I need to do to get this thing working!
. 1 Answer SOURCE: we cannot get the vcr portion to work only the works what are we doing wrong? Best Solution posted on Oct 24, 2007 MikeNJ1964 Rank: Guru Rating: 88%, 431 votes On some of the DVD/VCR combo units, the VCR output is only available through the RF jack (channel 3), standard (yellow) RCA jack and S-VIDEO jack. If you are using the Component jacks, the DVD side will work but the VCR will not.

This is because the quality of video recorded on VHS tapes is so much lower than component quality video. Thank you for rating this solution. Posted on Jan 01, 2008. Minecraft free trial play now.
21 Answers SOURCE: If you have the original remote, hit video, source, or input button, if it dont have them, then try to change the tv to channel 00 (zero or zerozero), if not then the channels might have to scroll to it, from channel 02 down to make it loop, if it goes to the next highest channel, then you need a remote. It may be set in the menu options to have the video source not saved to your list of saved channels. When you scan the channels, the tv might not look for the A/V source (audio / video), maybe just the RF source. The 3 DVD RCA wires are 1 video and 2 stereo, one stereo for left and one stereo for right. The TV has only 2, 1 for video and 1 for mono 1 channel sound. This wouldnt have anything to do with why you cant use the DVD player. But try that with the original remote (or a universal remote that is set to your tv set that has either video, input, source or something similar.
It is what tells the tv to change from the cable source (RF) and the AV source (the Red White and Yellow plugs, in your TV's case, 2 plugs, one yellow and the other either red or white or something). Dont really know how to explain it much more but hope it helps. Posted on Jul 26, 2008.
